Lekcijas apraksts:
This lecture examines the intersection between business and commercial law and the protection of human rights as developed through the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). By looking closely at landmark judgments, statistical data, and ongoing scholarly debates, the lecture will highlight how the Court has approached the recognition of corporate rights and their balance with state regulatory powers. Particular attention will be given to the interpretation of key provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as to the evolving role of businesses as rights-holders in Europe. The lecture aims to provide participants with analytical tools to better understand contemporary challenges in areas such as commercial regulation, protection of property, procedural safeguards, and corporate accountability within the broader framework of human rights law.
